FAQs
Here you will find answers to questions we frequently get asked here at Home Shine Services.
How much do you charge per hour?
The amount varies depending on the type of cleaning that is needed. For example for a 'residential general clean' we charge £18/hour. We aim to work efficiently and effectively so that the customer receives the lowest charge possible in accordance to their needs. Better pricing guidelines can be found in our 'book a service' tab or by contacting us.
What areas do you provide services to?
We provide services all over Cardiff and surrounding areas. If unsure about your particular area, please contact us prior to booking.
What happens if I decide to cancel a booking?
We understand that circumstances can change and schedules can get reshuffled so that is why we honor a 3 day cancellation prior to cleaning date with a full refund given, no questions asked.
How does payment work?
We are currently accepting website payments through our calendar when placing a booking online. Or alternatively when booking you can select the in-person payment option which can then be done on the cleaning day via cash, bank transfer or Apple Pay.
Are your cleaners insured and background-checked?
Yes, all our cleaners are thoroughly vetted, background-checked, and insured for your peace of mind. They also undergo a rigorous 2 week training programme to ensure their skills are up to scratch before they are sent out to clients. Most of our cleaners have been with us for at least a year!
How long does a typical cleaning session take?
The hours vary in accordance to property size, number of rooms/places to clean and the level of cleaning required. In each of our service listings under 'book a service' you will find the estimated time it will take to clean a property of a particular size. Once again hours may vary so therefore you may be charged a different amount in accordance to hours undertaken.
What are the main differences between a 'general' and 'detailed' clean?
A general clean typically covers regular cleaning tasks to maintain a basic level of cleanliness, such as dusting, vacuuming, and surface wiping. On the other hand, a deep/detailed clean goes beyond the surface, tackling hidden dirt, grime, and hard-to-reach areas. A deep clean is recommended for occasional or seasonal cleaning needs, while a general clean is suitable for regular upkeep.
Are there any hidden costs?
Nope, we pride ourselves in being completely open with our customers and setting out pricing before starting a job. If for any reason there is an additional cost due to a special request etc. then this would have been discussed with the customer prior to the cleaning starting.
What happens if I am not satisfied with the cleaning carried out?
In the rare case of certain tasks being missed out in our cleaning process or if there was some sort of neglect in parts of the property, then we will open a dissatisfied customer case and investigate your claim. However please note that we are yet to have a dissatisfied client due to our attention to detail and procedure of taking before/after pictures of the clean.
What are your operating hours?
We operate from 8AM to 8PM, 7 days a week. We also offer flexible scheduling for your convenience. For example, if a clean runs past 8PM, our cleaners are happy to stay longer to finish the job.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
No, you do not need to be home during the cleaning. However, please ensure that our cleaning team has access to your property. If you would like to be present towards the end of the clean, then our team can notify you towards the end of the clean so that you can come and assess their work.
Do you provide cleaning supplies and equipment?
Yes, asides from our most basic clean (£18/hour), we bring all the necessary cleaning supplies and equipment. If you have any specific preferences or products you’d like us to use, please let us know.
